Kaz'rogal!!

Ok, so this is what I found on this boss. Any other tips/tricks are well appreciated. I've been posting here about what boss we're doing for the past year. All the way through kara/gruul ssc/tk and it has been a great help. I plan on going through MH/BT in the same fashion, as it helps us a lot and hopefully someone out there somewhere is also reading up.

Yamahaguy, what are you guys up to now? Haven't seen you post much lately.

ANyhow, any additions tips/tricks no matter how small are appreciated.

The Boss - Kaz'Rogal

He will come from the same area that all the waves came from. He'll walk slowly until he finds a target to engage, if all the mobs in the front are already dead. Otherwise, he'll kill them first.

Kaz'Rogal raid positions

It doesn't matter too much where Kaz'rogal is tanked nor what your positions are, so long as the mana using classes are 10-15 yards away from each other to prevent multiple deaths from the Mark of Kaz'Rogal. Melee need to stand behind the boss to avoid his Cleave.

Moving him to engage the tauren warriors and Thrall in the battle is a useful bonus, even though Thrall will nearly always join the fights no matter what. If you have all the tauren still up, they provide a significant help. Together with Thrall they can do about 15% of the damage to the boss.

Give your tank about 10 seconds for aggro then start DPS-ing like mad. Give him more time if you happen to overaggro a lot.

He sometimes does a War Stomp which really isn't that much of an issue, apart from the annoying damage. It can also be outranged by the melee.

The key to this fight is DPS. All out DPS. You need to kill him before he burns all your mana and then kills you.

Use Mana Potions,Demonic Runes, Night Dragon's Breath, and anything alse that can give you extra mana.

If you can organise it, Soulstone some mana-based DPS, or even a healer(if you think you'll lack healing) when they reach 0 mana and are going to die from the next mark.

In the beginning, he'll use his Mark of Kaz'rogal ability every 60 seconds, but he uses it more and more often as the fight progresses, with the gap decreasing by 10 seconds each time, to the point where it will virtually be cast continually. This puts an effective enrage timer on the boss of approximately 3 and a half minutes, so you need as much DPS as you can get.|||Tell your Priests to buff the raid with Shadow Resist buff.

Use the BT necklace and some other SR gear you have handy if it doesn't impact your role too much... the shadow resist can help a *lot* with resisting the Marks.

I've used my full SR suit on the fight, having 372sr, and resisted all but 1 Mark in the kill.|||Most of our players don't have the neck... I never bothered with the quest and am kicking myself over it.

My hatred of quests is going to be my /doom one day.

Would you suggest a chromatic flask? that +sr buff would bring everyone up over 100.

A few cloak enchants maybe?|||ffs get the necks !

and start working on your shadow equip for mother, you ll need it anyway.

did i mention that you should get the necks ?

or do you want to walk to BT every time ? you know the neck has a nice build in teleport feature once you kill illidan.

so you will do the quest once you are about to kill illidan ? well then do it now.

/rant off.

everything else has been said :) key are a bit shadow resist equip, alot of dps and if you realy struggle switch some of your caster DD's to melee DD's.|||Quote:

We'll get some neck pieces we just had a rush and rough time through SSC.

I must admit i'm guilty of not doing it myself but we need to put it as a higher priority to be sure.|||A few points:

Warstomp is a major pain in the ass. Your tank won't be blocking/dodging when it happens, so be prepared for some burst.

From tests, melee can't outrange it, except possibly Taurens.

Get your leatherworkers to bring drums.

Get your mana users with Shadow resist. 150 res + buffs will help a fair bit.

Get druids to innervate Shadow Priests.|||Quote:

they should always be doing that, goddamn slackers|||Quote:

Most shadow priests don't deserve it. Couldn't DPS their way out of a paper napkin and it's the DPS part that gets people the mana back. Might as well toss it on someone who can use it for a change|||Quote:

We let the Abomination waves kill the guards near the spawn spot, otherwise he gets into combat with them which really eats into your killing time. The mana users aren't going to last long once the drains get close to 5 second between them.

We MD him to the tank standing next to Thrall, this minimizes the amount of time wasted moving him around and gives the tank a head start on threat. From there nuke him down and hope you can do it before every one's exploded.

SR really helps, gave us just enough time to kill him|||Can't really add much here.

- we start by putting on SR gear on mana users after wave 7

- we let him killwhatever npc's are left up front

- MD to tank who stands near Thrall

- all out ful dps bloodlust, all you want right after the first warstomp, it really is kill him before he kills you.

we usually get away with one death at the most.

I woudl say, focus on your dps output en get some SR gear for mana users.
