Progression?

Ok so i've hit level 70 on my hunter, and I dont feel ready for raiding. I've been trying to do instances but it seems i'm not meeting certain requirements. Basically is there a sticky/guide I could check out for the progression through these instances. I'm not needing how to guides on the instances themselves. Thanks in advance.|||Post a link to the armory and we'll have something to work from :)

There really is a lot of things you need to get right as a hunter, but when you do you really can put out some mean dps. A short summary of your playstyle would also be helpful (what shots you use, if you're using a autoshot timer etc.. )|||Hit the hunter forums too... What you usually do if you hit 70 in quest greens and some blues is to figure out what gear you need and start trying to gather it. Some of the gear will be obtainable from quests (Stalker's Helm of Second Sight for example) but some won't be.

For most of the normal 70 instances you should be fine gearwise if you're in blues and greens as long as they're late 60s or 70 blues/greens. If you're still in, for example, level 63 gear you have farther to go and might want to look at crafted gear to speed things up.|||Since you're starting out, you'll be looking at doing normal 70 instances to gear up. So as clevins has said, check out what drops in which 70 instance, and try to do the ones where the drops represent the best upgrades. It won't be so easy getting a pug for a normal 70 nowadays though since everyone who's running 5-mans seem to be doing heroics. SO it's gonna be a bit of work.

You can supplement your gear with some pvp stuff to up your dps. Or look at quest rewards and see what's good that you haven't already done, although the group nature of most of these might be a challenge since no one seems to quest anymore either.

Don't worry about your performance in a group, just make sure you know how to chain trap a non-mana mob, put out some dps while not pulling aggro and not feigning death at a time when the mob will just squash the healer. That's pretty much it and you'll be fine to move on to heroics rather quickly.|||And always be on the lookout in the AH for good gear some nub put up for waaaaay too low. :)
