Tanking makes me angry

[:1]I play a DPS and a tank (52 hunter, 23 pally) and when I play hunter the only time I'm angry or frustrated is when:

A) I pull something/make us wipe.

B) We have an idiot of a tank that can't use a map or equip a shield.

But then when I tank I get pissed at almost everyone except healers because I get great heals. I get angry when:

A) People pull for me. I feel like as the tank they shouldn't be pulling because it's harder to take aggro from a damaged mob.

B) People stand in stuff, like in SFK the people that don't understand my pep talk about purple beams.

C) Someone isn't playing their class right. For example, I had a DPS hunter with a +8 strength blade and a grey 5.5 DPS bow in Stormwind Stockade. We kicked him because he would stand and do nothing until he used Raptor Strike and attacked random mobs.

D) I group with a demonology warlock, because at 25ish nobody understands how to control a minion. He ended up pulling the little side rooms of the stockade and pulling the mobs away from me, causing me to have to run, retrieve it, all while losing aggro on the pack of mobs behind me.

E) I get people not understanding stats, like hunters taking my +Strength/Stamina one-handers when I need them to tank better.

F) When people attack the mobs that I'm not focusing on. I had thrown an Avenger's Shield, and maybe a Crusader Strike at that mob, but I try to Hammer Of Justice them until my main focus is dead, so it's not a tangled mess.

G) When people don't listen. I say "Ready?" and they sit around and then yell at me for not pulling, or when I tell them to please get out of Pistol Barrage and they keep standing in it and we wipe.

H) When people don't use their buffs. This is probably the only thing that annoys me about healers (I mainly get great healers that know the fights and follow tips I give them, so I'm happy with healers most of the time) is when a priest doesn't use Power Word: Fortitude or Druids/whatever class it is forgets Mark Of The Wild, or someone forgets Blood Pact, or shamans don't use totems.

I) Finally, whenever I tank. I almost never leave a tanked instance without feeling frustrated or angry.

Anyone else feel this way?|||Anything else?

I get annoyed at people making banal lists of things that everyone else knows about and have accepted for years. I get more annoyed that this steaming pile is the most interesting thing to get posted here today.

Screw these forums. They've been going downhill for months... bye all.|||level 23

Depends, they may already have a maxed toon and just started another of the same class for early tanking etc.

It something I've thought about.

I've never used the DF or joined a Raiding guild with any of my maxed toons and I guess by 85 most people would expect you to know how to control and use your class. I know my toons extremely well but just not in a group setting.

So starting afresh might no be too crazy.|||Quote:

Where THE HECK is this coming from all of a sudden? I wish I would have seen this post earlier. I am completely shocked, to be honest.

We all know these forums went downhill, mostly because of the declining user base. I can count the valuable and contributing members on two hands, I think. The rest is just lurkers, spam bots and people posting drivel. Then I for one enjoy reading posts like this, even though they're about trivial things. Ranting about trivial things = funny. And even though for us longtime players these things are trivial, they are all true.

From the moment Ithkus joined, I thought "yay another good and valuable member". We need those. If you are done with these forums, that's your call, but don't go out scaring off the contributing new members we DO get. That is what makes me angry, and a heck of a lot.

And prion, I must say, that goes a bit for you too. Jumped on the "let's harass this new guy because there is nothing else left to do here anymore" bandwagon too quickly as well? At level 23, a hunter should know that he is not a melee class. And even then, your post is in such a condescending tone I almost feel like giving you a bit of time off.

I hope you don't take offense, Ithkus. This thread makes me feel ashamed and seriously annoyed. No wonder we hardly get new members.|||Quote:

Aw, thanks Snowieken! Your post made my day, it made me feel happy. :)

@Prion: It seems half (or more) people that I did dungeons with while leveling the first time would tell me things like "this dungeon drops terrible gear, this is my 6th time doing it" or "why don't you know your rotation" and even things like "you're so dumb just send yourself gold from your 85s" so from what I've seen, most people understand their classes. Plus, if you can get past 20 and run a somewhat successful dungeon than you have the resourcefulness to know the bare basics of your class.|||ok that clarifies things a bit.

I was not meaning to jump on your case, i just find it possible that those people are all new to a particular thing whether it be controlling pets or whatever. It's very possible at those low levels that it is actually the first dungeon ever for some people.

i also know from personal experience that when i go make an alt there's an adjustment process b/c my ordinary tools i've come to rely on aren't there. As fast as leveling is without heirlooms even i just feel that 23 is too early to judge.

I was just trying to get my point across without writing a huge post as that cuts into my wow time|||If priests/druids/shamans dont use buffs they got, I dont understand why did they picked up a healer.|||This is kinda the same old same old but think before you get pissed at them you were not always a pro.you was like that before and there was someone like u now back then who got pissed.|||Work on your leadership and communication skills. Don't expect everyone to know or do what you have in mind. If you have more experience share it and get everyone on the same page.

Don't ***** at them, explain to them why you do things a certain way. If they can't follow don't play with them.
