What's with raid trash?

[:1]I've been reading some posts on the official forums about how much trash there is in raids. But then there was a post replying about how it's like 5-6 pulls per raid. What's the deal with this? In 5-mans (cough blackrock depths) there's like 90% trash and 10% bosses, if that. Am I missing something?|||In BoT there are 5-6 trash pulls between each boss (approx), but in BWD there are only 1 or 2. maybe the reply in that post was referring to BoT?|||Quote:

5-6 still seems like an EXTREMELY low number to me. In BRD (as i reffered to in OP) you have at least 10 before each boss, and these bosses don't drop ilvl 359.|||I think people were complaining about too much trash, as it's really only the boss drops that are interesting. Wasn't there a post about this some time ago, with Blizzard stating that there would be less trash?|||Why are you even comparing current raids to years old 5 man that is exceptionally long even by vanilla's standards? They have absolutely nothing to do with each other, and picking the most trash heavy instance in game as your representative of what 5 mans are like isn't a very good comparison anyway. That's like saying that every instance should only have 1 boss because SM: Armory only has Herod.

You ask if you're missing something, which is probably all of Cata/WotLK dungeons and many of TBC dungeons too. They don't have massive amounts of trash between bosses, and there are quite a few vanilla dungeons too that aren't trash fests. 5-6 pulls seems about right for most newer dungeons I can think of. Blizzard has moved away from adding grindy extra tedium/timesinks in the form of needlessly huge amount of trash.|||besides.. remember.. more trash means more chance of those epic BoE's ;)|||Quote:

Well thanks for clearing up that there confusion I had skroob! I guess I never really stopped and thought about how the trash in BoT and some 5-mans are similar in quantity. :)
