UK boss in heroic

[:1](i forget his name)

I did this instance when leveling up and it took three tries to down the boss in two or three different groups. I tank the whole instance the first time thru with no trouble at all but this guy pounded me. Blew all my CDs in a row and my health+healer's mana ran out before his.

So the other day the random heroic lands me there and i'm expecting a good fight, I mean yeah we all knew what we were doing so I figure a professional but good fight. Instead we kill him the first time in about 25 seconds and kill him again just as fast. And it seemed like he didn't use any of his special abilities

So my question is were we all too good to be there or is he too lame?

And regardless of that answer, is there anything Blizzard can/should do to make bosses tougher when people are overpowered for the instance? Personally I was very disappointed in the fight.|||In both his forms he uses an attacked that does quite a lot of damage to people who are standing in front of him.

In his Vrykul form it's called "Smash" and in his undead form it's called "dark smash" I believe.

When you see him casting it, move to his side to avoid the damage.

The fight is quite easy once the tank masters this trick. It's the same with Anub'arak and his pound in AN.|||From http://www.wowwiki.com/Ingvar_the_Plunderer

Ranged DPS and Healing Tactics

* Make sure you stand at least far enough away you don't accidentally eat a (Dark) Smash.

* (non-healers) When Ingvar casts Dark Smash (Phase 2) LOS him with a pillar to reduce or avoid the shadow damage.

* (healers) When Ingvar casts Dark Smash (Phase 2) your ability to LOS him with a pillar is directly proportional to your ability to keep the tank alive if you get knocked down out of LOS. LOS your tank at your own risk.

* If Ingvar throws his axe at you, don't stand in the Magical Axe of Whirly-Doom effect. It will kill you.

* When Ingvar casts his roar, stop casting. If you don't you'll be eating an 8 second school lock-out (enemy casting bars work wonders)|||Did you guys read the whole post?

I'm saying we didn't need any of that in heroic he just stood there and died!|||Quote:

You also said he died very quickly. That's just the way things go when a group is overgeared.

Have you ever gone back to some of the old raids now that you are 80? There are lots of once difficult mechanics that are completely irrelevant (or that you never even get a chance to see) now that you can kill things faster. Now, there will always be exceptions. If you want some fun, go find and kill Emeriss with a small group. That's a fight that actually gets harder if your dps is too good.
