thaddius 25 man

got to thaddius last night for the first time on heroic and only managed to get him to 50%. we ran a very heavy melee group last night and we struggled to keep dps on him all the time. with a 6 min timer and 30 million hp even with the debuff stacked 6 or 7 times i cant see how we keep enough dps on the boss at all times.

is their any way we can keep more melee in the fight so we can beat the enrage timer ?|||We did him first time, last friday! A very good day indeed!

When he had about 500k hp left he engaged, but our druids tank dodged his attack until we got him burned down, meaning popping BL again :)..

Think we ran with 20 dps, 3 Healers and 2 Tank.. Meaning we had about 10 stacks each at the time.. So we just nuked him down, and switched side when needed. We mostly have ranged dps..|||There's no issue with melee.

If anything, it's the ranged dying for us because they feel the need to finish casting that spell. Stop hugging his ass / front so you got enough to run around him.

He's one of the harder encounters in the 25man version (in part due to the hidden [lag] debuff everyone gets...) and you can't afford to lose people. If you have DPSers dying, tell 'em to open their eyes and start moving the right way and fast enough.

People need to step up their game, you can't get away with doing 2k dps with the debuff on half a dozen times. No enchants/gems/flask/food? -dkp or just no invite.|||Ye.. All ppl you get the addon Deadly Boss Mod.. And as soon at it comes with the message about charge-changing, run at the very moment.. Even if you have to interrupt your cast, doesn't matter..

And if to many die, you are ****ed.. 1 dead = -10% to all of your nearest dps'ers.. + the amount of dps the person do.|||we had the tank anouncing his charge and people where moving fast. we lost a couple early on a few times and that didnt help. as to raid havivng flasks and buffs thats a cert no flask no raid its as simple as that in 25 mans.

our group make up was 3 tanks (1 bear/kitty) 6 healers rest dps but we had about 75% of dps as melee and i think that was our downfall. 5 players doing 3.5k+ and stuck out of fight for 2/3 of time isnt good|||Quote:

In 25-man you should have stacks of 10-13. People shouldn't rely on DBM to tell them when to move, the debuff has a cast time and is placed on you for several seconds before it starts to do damage. There's no need to have people move in a particular way either, just run straight through the boss (and each other) to get to the other side as quick as possible.

Make sure the sides are determined in advance, we do negative left and positive right. Everyone on a side needs to stand on top of the melee to maximise the polarity damage buff. We have the MT move sides as well but its not really necessary tbh (we just want high damage too ).|||clav does that mean you have all dps in fight all the way through?

we have been tanking him just round the corner to the left as you look at him with tank sat in corner and dps all behind boss. when opposite charge to tank we run along back wall and round to corner of platform and new dps runs along outside edge and into boss|||You need to have all dps in for the fight.. , just let dps stand at max range at it shouldn't really be a problem..|||Quote:

Yes all dps need to be in the fight at the same time. After the platform mini-bosses are dead everyone jumps down. The MT goes and stands with his back to the wall ready to engage thadius where he stands. Everyone else stacks on the left or right side depending what platform they came from. The idea is to stand at max melee range, forming a triangle from the MT. When the first polarity shift is cast then everyone affected shifts position to the designated sides (including our MT but this isn't necessary.) It is helpful to mark a melee on each side to get the initial positions right. Remember to err on the side of caution, it is better to run too far then gradually move back to range than not run far enough and nuke the opposite side.

/edit pro paint skills :D|||Still a bit too overcomplicated. Positive stand at the edge of the ledge, negative stand on the wall. Everyone either stays or runs through on charge flip (incl tank). Very very easy, maximises dps time (melee are actually as good/better for this fight really).

You have PLENTY of time to get to the other side before you'll hit anyone with it.
