which instances will become extinct?

I'm a little bummed that once again i am going to miss most if not all of the end-game content because the end of the game is moving.

So the question is: which instances/raids will NOT be done when wrath comes out? because those are the ones I want to try to do now before people abandon them.|||um.... imho ALL BC dungeons and raids will be abandoned /cry.|||Hm, I don't really agree with that. I still think that there will be people who run BC instances, but much in the same way that people now run Azeroth instances: they ask their guildies for boosts so they can finish certain quests, or get certain pieces of gear that are better for levelling than the average quest item they can get at their level.

The only difference might be that the BC instances give reputation, which is needed for certain recipes that are used to skill up a profession. But by then it'll be just like ZG now - you just zerg through it with a small group of well-geared people, and add a few lowbies for flavour.|||i guess the leveling instances will still be played from time to time. Just like zul farrak or maraudon nowadays.

the level 70 raid instances on the other hand will see much less action than they do now, like BWL or AQ now. Maybe sometimes some lvl 80 raiders will stomp trough the place for old times sake, but that is about it.|||i think people will definitely have to choose which rep they want to grind. Im just wondering if there's a certain rep faction associated with a particular dungeon that *everyone* will ignore.

will people just do the normal dungeons and skip the heroics?|||Quote:

i dont think that people will grind outland rep. There will be no rep reward that wont be replaced by a better one in northrend. It is simply not worth the time to grind rep in BC any more.

Same with heroics. Heroics are for lvl 70 players to gear up a bit for raiding. After the expansion, you will find better loot in easier dungeons in northrend.|||Quote:

Well, seeing as how you can only hit Revered and Exalted by doing the instances on heroic level, I don't think people will skip the heroics.. if anything, it might even be the other way - heroics will be easypie for 2-3 level 80s, so boosting a lowbie through the heroic mode wouldn't be too much effort.|||If we are talking about the average players, who just wants to level as quickly as possible and get to Northrend, then no, I very much doubt they will spend any large amount of time grinding Outland rep, or doing level 70 heroics. The badges from heroics will be completely obsolete, and the gear can easily be replaced simply by getting off the Northrend boat and doing the first few quests.

For level 80 raid instances, it will be even harder to find a group. You might see 5 man Kara runs a year down the road just for nostalgic reasons, but I seriously doubt there will be frequent SSC/TK/BT/Sunwell raid groups forming immediately after the release of WotlK.|||Unless the instance gives exp people will not be running it. Even if the instance gives exp and it is too much of a bother people will not be running it. Even if the instance gives exp and is not too much of a bother, but you need to be close to lvl 70 to run, people will not be running it.

People won't run them for rep, there isn't much point (when was the last time you cared about Azeroth rep... Argent Dawn?).

My short list of BC dead instances:

Slabs

Shattered Halls

Black Morass

All TK

MrT

Most of the Heroics and pretty much all of the raids.

Just my POV|||If it has quests, esp several, and it's <66, people will run it for the quest XP perhaps. Over 66 people will just push to 68 and go to Northrend. You have to understand that th qust XP from the Wrath quests is almost double that of the BC quests... it makes no sense to do Outland quests to level from 68-70. and the gear out there is better than the gear in higher level TBC instances.

prion - not sure why you missed endgame (when you started playing, etc) but if it's something you care about, level up a least one toon this time before messing with alts etc.
