Mage requirements for Raiding????

Ok so here is a question. I used to be full tier two and all that back when that meant something, now that it doesnt and I rerolled another mage I am interested in finding out what the raiding standards are for mages these days.

Hit Rate

Penetration

Crit

Spell Dmg

Mana

Health

Resistances

Attunements

Anything will help i am jsut trying to get some ideas on what level I need to acheive before I will be considered raid material. Thanks all.|||This thread might be better suited for the mage forum. Still... you'll want to get 164 spell hit as fire spec, after that as much haste, dmg and crit as possible, in that order.

Penetration is useless for pve. If you're beginning to raid again and not jumping straight into Black Temple mana/hp/resistances are pretty much irrelevant. I remember having around 7k of both fully buffed when I started Kara if you want a ball park figure.

All attunements have been removed pretty much, so unless you want the Scale of the Sands ring (need to kill Vashj and Kael) you don't need to do any. Happy raiding!|||Thanks, thats helpful. Only thing is did you have an estimate on a good spell dmg? keeping in mind of course having the appropiate other stats aswell. is 600-700 what I should be shooting for?|||700 dmg

100 hit

20~ish % crit.

That should get you well into kara without any trouble. Enchants/gems play a big part of this.

For example, glove/weapon/helm/bracer/leg enchants alone around around 150+dmg and a good bit of hit (shat enchant for hit on the head piece)|||ok.

since the stuff you can get from tailoring is pretty awsome you can expect the following :

you can have as much spelldamage as a mage in full T6 equip. you can have hit capped. you can have almost as much crit as a mage in T6. you wont get that much haste though.

the only thing that the t6 set realy adds is survivability. expect to have 6k life in the tailoring gear while a t6 mage with around as much damage stats will have around 8k life.

head over to the mage forum, you will find a sticky with the best gear you can get whibout raiding. it allready takes you way beyond 900 spelldamage.

aim for this and you should be ready to raid :P|||These are the recommended minimums for a mage given by WoWInsider for clearing the first Kara boss...

------------ Mage ------------

6,000 health

8,500 mana

550 +damage

6% +hit

15% +crit

As you can see nothing extremely special... But remember these are the minimums... so make sure to bring some friends that far exceed the minimum lvl to make life... easier...|||Quote:

550 +damage

6% +hit

15% +crit

i had all of this at lvl 60 before BC came out... you cannot be serious ^^|||Quote:

There's a reason the chinese cleared BT in tier3.|||While I'm sure it's possible to kill Attumen with that kind of gear, you haven't really been trying if you show up to Kara with those stats ;)

Forget about manapool btw, it's not important. You don't actually stack int, it just comes naturally with gear. If you're in a int vs sta situation, go with sta.|||I've been doing fune in kara with 700 spell damage unbuffed, and 30% crit. I'm really lacking in hit though, only got 60 or so, so I'm gonna lose a little spell damage to get more hit :)
